City Reputation

for the first time, in a long time, I had a conversation with a perfect stranger. 3 hours after talking about the mere vices of life, I walked away completely refreshed. The  city lights glimmered off my car as I drove off, and the night air seemed to deeply fill my lungs with each cool breath. I don't know if I will ever see this person again.

But I do know that having a conversation with someone without any pressures, forced conversation, or slight akwardness was incredible...

2 Corinthians 4

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this 

all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

 

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; 

perplexed, but not in despair; 

persecuted, but not abandoned; 

struck down, but not destroyed.

Therefore we do not lose heart.... 

Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

 

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

Serendipity

Do you believe love at first sight exists?

 It's that moment when you and the other person lock eyes instantaneously...

Suddenly your heart starts racing, your palms become sweaty, and everything just goes by in a whispering slow motion....

 Even though you don't even know what their favorite song is, where they grew up as a child, or even simply their first name..it's okay. Because looking in their eyes told you everything.

While you may never see them again, you know that for that one moment, you had someone's undivided attention and wild admiration. 

You captured their heart, if only for a split second...and they captured yours.

Your silent, quick breaths let you know that even though things may be going all wrong in life at the moment....

you found love. 

in the most unexpected place, at the most unexpected time.

And forever and always, you will carry that moment in your heart and mind. Your eyes will brighten and flicker with the fondness of that time.

You found love...in your stranger's eyes. 

Summer is finally here....

For awhile, this blog was just used as a way to talk to my boyfriend while I was gone in Guatemala. However, now that we are broken up, i decided to change it to something else- something current. This blog is now about things that happen in my life, others lives, and the world around us as I encounter it.

  I would like to start out with a SHOUTOUT! to all mothers out there...especially mine. My mom is so good to me. She buys me snacks when 

I'm sad, teaches me the importance of serving others, and always is there for a really good laugh. I'm who I am partly today because of her. If you are reading this, stop and go hu

Lastly, i just want to say that i am SO incredibly super excited that 

S-U-M-M-E-R is here! 

After months of walking to nursing in the bitter cold, the green has finally come back to this land. People are donning shorts and tank tops, smiles are brighter, and commercials for pools and hot tubs are in continual re-run. Revival of the soul truly does come with warm weather

 and sunshine... :)
